Wearing Light

Over the period from March 1 (Saturday) to April 2 (Wednesday), ISSEY MIYAKE and artist Kosei Komatsu will hold "Wearing Light".
ISSEY MIYAKE is developing his SPRING SUMMER 2014 collection under the theme of "Wearing Light" together with Kosei Komatsu, an artist who specializes in bird feather designs and creating artwork that deeply contemplates light. In this collection, ISSEY MIYAKE has produced feathers from original materials and Komatsu has integrated them into artistic works such as "Weathercock" and "Chandelier".
Please look forward to viewing the installations these two creators have produced that express light and lightness.
Original products will also be introduced.

Kosei Komatsu
Kosei Komatsu was born in 1981. After completing graduate school at the Tokyo University of Arts in 2006, he became a member of Atelier OMOYA, an artists' group. His current work encompasses a broad range of artistic endeavors in Japan and abroad in various genres. In his group works, Komatsu pursues the sense of surprise and discoveries originating from phenomena caused by materials that exist anywhere, such as light, water, cloth and marbles. In his individual works, he creates numerous pieces under the theme of the evolution of birds and their beauty. http://kosei-komatsu.com/

New Products and a New Window Display

New items have appeared at ELTTOB TEP GINZA together with a window installation by the art collective Atelier OMOYA.

PATAPATA GINZA
As well as representing the face of the store, the show windows mark the borderline between the interior and exterior. PATAPATA GINZA is an artistic work installed in these show windows. The windows are all closed together at the same time by wings so that they appear as a single wall and the scenery that was previously visible through them disappears. After that, the wings move again and visitors to the store can gently take in the outside light and the signs of people passing by.
