A space will appear inside the store featuring the 2013 spring and summer season's theme of "PICNIC"! We will be offering items in colors only available at our street-front stores, and launching products ahead of other stores. We will also be giving out a free original gift from me ISSEY MIYAKE!
■Event
April 13 (Sat), from 15:00 to 16:00
This event is being held in cooperation with the Tokyo Picnic Club, a group that reflects on the exchange of people, culture and urban space through picnics. Participants can enjoy a witty lecture on the history and background knowledge of the picnic while having a "tea-time" picnic that the food coordinator has revamped from the traditional style into a "me style." Please confirm the following information before reserving your spot.

Tokyo Picnic Club
Tokyo Picnic Club (TPC) was founded in 2002 to celebrate the bicentennial of the picnic. Its various members, including architects, urban designers, food coordinators, designers, illustrators, and photographers, collaborate to propose that we use urban space in a more fun and creative way. They have searched through history for the origin of the picnic, and claim "Picnic Rights" as a basic human right for urban dwellers, seeking to increase the potential use of urban public spaces as places for social interaction. The group implements various projects in cities in and out of Japan.

- These pleated tops can be worn like T-shirts.
- This thin Jacquard denim item weaves in a pattern of bird feathers lying one upon another.
** ISSEY MIYAKE MEN **
Original yarn made by twisting Japanese paper and yarn used for Japanese ikat together is used for these items. The corona pattern is introduced on the standard denim series, with color variations perfect for spring and summer.
This knitted and pleated item has moisture absorption and quick-drying characteristics.

These bags have geometric diamond patterns.

This pleated, stretch T-shirt was created with the concept of an imaginary game being played on a lawn.

** ISSEY MIYAKE ( women ) **
This colorful collection is inspired by the feathers of birds, which can be of any color, from the richly-hued birds living in tropical lands to birds of the north covered in earth-toned feathers.
These pleated items come in patterns resembling vividly-colored parrots, designed and inspired by the chigiri-e technique (pictures made by torn colored papers).
-These knit jackets show a beautiful gradation of light colors.
-The items of this jersey series have a characteristic drape-like form, like a bird with its wings spread.
-This feather-light spring blouson has a pattern bursting with color like peacock feathers.
-The items of this stretch series have characteristic bright colors that remind one of the spring air.

* PAPER／LIGHT／CYCLING *
This season, the brand offers a collection using Japanese paper, which is a material that has also been used for clothing through the ages, coupled with the concept of the modern lifestyle of "living with bicycles." The brand developed a washable paper fabric, and used it to design forms and details with the occasion of riding bicycles in the city in mind.
-These jersey-series blousons composed of Japanese paper-fabric have a peculiar, sporty cut .
-The fabric used for this series is woven with twisted paper tape.
-Japanese paper and rayon fabric is pasted together, and the surface coated with resin, to make the "washable Japanese paper" used for this series.

We have selected "Magic" as the key word for Christmas season 2012. At our Semba Store, we are taking part in the Shinsaibashi Night Cruise, which takes place on the day the Midosuji Christmas lights are first lit, and holding a Christmas event full of music and magic with a somewhat whimsical twist. We look forward to seeing you there. *The store will be closed on 16:30 on the day of the event for preparations. The event site opens at 18:00. (Please note that this event is standing room only.)
