The BONSAI of GOOD GOODS

The bag is smooth in texture, sturdy enough to hold its form when expanded, and dyed a variety of bright and refined colors.
Using the property of its material, the installation opens the bags wide and displays them at an angle.
To grow and tend a bonsai plant requires extensive work done in a deliberate manner over a long period of time. As an evergreen species pine is considered as a symbol of longevity and prosperity.
SOLID BAG takes time and care to make, and just like bonsai, it is meant to be cherished for a long period of time.
The KURA gallery of ISSEY MIYAKE KYOTO, is also holding KURA Exhibition: GOOD GOODS —SOLID BAG.
The exhibition presents the same installation, along with behind-the-scenes film footage of the bag’s careful and thorough making process.
Please come and have a look at the store.
